Details about the tour:
The 2010 National Veteran Rally, (for vehicles manufactured before 1919), is to be held
in the Launceston environs between the 24th and 31st October 2010.
To ease the costs to visiting entrants from the mainland States, the first day's run will start
from East Devonport, after the “Spirit of Tasmania's” arrival on Sunday the 24th, and travel
through to Launceston for the rest of the week's events.
A hub-style rally, venturing out in the southern and south-western areas from Launceston,
will begin each day from Franklin House at Youngtown, radiating out to take in Tasmania's
cultural heritage, with visits to some of our early historical colonial properties. The longest
day's run will be 130 kilometres total , with most others averaging well less.
The 'official' start of the event will take place on Monday the 25th, a rest day on Thursday
the 28th, and a formal dinner will occur on Saturday the 30th, with the final day's run to the
township of Meander for conclusion.
The event has been planned to provide good veteran motoring, with the selection of minor
sealed roads wherever possible, in an area which has a generally level terrain. Luncheon
meals will be catered for each day.
Eight days to enjoy Tasmania's countryside, scenery, hospitality, and enviable lifestyle,
while driving a veteran vehicle!
The V.C.C.A. (Tas.) Inc. 2010 National Rally Committee looks forward to your entry
submission and rally participation.
